KewPie mayonnaise can be purchased at Amazon or specialty Asian food stores.

Curiosities: Beam means Good (bun, muffin) so Bao bun It is redundant, a translation error of the first menus that introduced these delicious steamed buns in the Anglo-Saxon culture and that has spread alongside it.

Preparation of Bao Thermomix

1

To make the bread dough, place the water, sugar and yeast in the Thermomix glass and mix at 3 speed for 8 seconds.

Let stand for 5 minutes or until the mixture has become foamy.

2

Add all-purpose flour, olive oil, salt and baking powder in the Thermomix glass and mix at 6 speed for 8 seconds, to mix all the ingredients.

3

Program the kneading (spike) function of the thermomix for 10 minutes.

4

Place the dough in a greased ThermoServer or a large bowl and set aside in a warm and dry place to lift, leave there for 45 minutes.

5

Tear a piece of baking paper into strips and place it on the 2 trays of the Varoma (leaving intermediate spaces to allow steam to escape).

6

Knead the dough on a bench or oiled board. Divide the dough into approximately 15 small pieces. Roll into balls and flatten in a circle / oval shape.

7

Place small pieces of baking paper in the middle of each flattened and double oval (so that the baking paper is in the middle so that the halves will not stick together).

Place them on the trays of the varoma.

8

Fill the Thermomix container with 500 g of water and place the Varoma (with the 2 trays) in position. Cook at varoma temperature for 30 minutes at 4 speed.

9

Take out the buns (they will be quite moist and sticky) and serve immediately with the remains of roasted pork, coleslaw, Kewpie mayonnaise (Japanese) and sesame seeds.
